Students will learn the methodology for modeling dynamic systems, which will allow them to understand the behavior of complex systems. Knowledge will be checked by designing their own model for the selected problem.

1. Motives for dynamic models design. Benefits and restrictions of computer simulation techniques for problem solving.

2. Description of causal loop diagrams in the system. Examples for concrete problems.

3. Distribution game. Data gathering.

4. Analysis of outputs and finding a solution.

5. Elements of system dynamics models.

6. Basic principles of model design. The computer simulation of a system behavior and policy making.

7. Dynamic behavior of systems in case of restricted resources.

8. Data analysis of calculated parameter values.

9. Examples of system dynamics models and the presentation of problem solving with the focus on sustainability.

10. The design of the dynamic model. The suitable model selection.

11. The model design consultation. The structure of the model.
