The subject deals with the preventive conservation (preventive care) of artefacts collection. Students will be acquainted with selected materials and causes of their decay, with appropriate conditions for their long-term storage and ways to achieve them, the issue of exhibiting, protection against theft and fire, as well as the principles of disaster planning.

Methods of of regulating climate parameters in the repositories. 5. Gaseous pollutants, monitoring and protection against them. 6. Dust and aerosols and protection against them. 7. Exhibiting the collection. 8. Protection of collection items against theft. 9.Protection of collection items before the fire. 10.Disaster planning. 11. Introduction to microbiology, basic characteristics of important groups of microorganisms. 12. Principles of cultivation and isolation of microorganisms, microbiological monitoring of the environment. 13. Microbiological damage to collection objects, disinfection, health risks caused by microorganisms. 14. Biological damage, prevention, deratization and disinfestation.

Předmět je zakončen písemnou zkouškou (60 minutovým testem). Podmínkou pro získání známky je úspěšné absolvování tohoto testu. Studenti se na zkoušku přihlašují přes SIS. Studentovi, který není v SISu zapsán, nebude umožněno zkoušku vykonat. Student, který se ze SISu neodhlásí a na zkoušku se nedostaví, obdrží známku "F".
