The subject Nanomaterials for bioapplications is focused on biomaterials and their development and their classification, new generation nanobiomaterials, their preparation and degradation. Furthermore, metal, ceramic, polymer and composite biomaterials as well as nanobiomaterials for tissue engineering will be presented. Nanoparticles in pharmacy and targeted drug delivery, nanoparticles from natural biopolymers, quantum dots and superparamagnetic nanoparticles for diagnostics and therapy will be presented

Students will be able to: characteristics of biomaterials and their classification, nanobiomaterials, preparation of biomaterials, degradation of biomaterials and their properties, metal, ceramic, polymer and composite biomaterials, biomaterials for tissue engineering, nanoparticles in pharmacy-targeted drug delivery, nanoparticles from natural biopolymers, temperature and pH-sensitive nanoparticles, quantum dots, superparamagnetic nanoparticles for diagnostics and therapy.

Superparamagnetic nanoparticles for diagnostics and therapy. 14. Carbon nanotechnology for drug transport (nanotubes, nanodiamonds).
