Annotation -
The course will provide students with up-to-date information on the labor market and an idea of ​​its future development. It equips them with the necessary skills that will make it much easier for them to navigate the labor market in the 21st century - understanding the meaning of complexity, chance and change and thus increase their adaptability in the labor market. The course emphasizes building and using networks of contacts (horizontal and vertical), career interviews and supporting collegiality and helping others with their development. The course is based on Happenstance learning theory and Chaos Theory in Careers

Graduates will be able to:

  • Recognize the high level of complexity of the labor market in the 21st century and your own limits of influencing it. Identify the skills and personality settings that will play critical roles in the job market this century.
  • Identify the potential of planned random events and be able to use them for personal development.
  • Be able to describe your skills and knowledge that you bring to the job market with an emphasis on soft skills. Know your work values ​​and look for opportunities where they can be realized.
  • Be able to develop your social contacts and use networks. Conduct career interviews and actively seek them out.
  • Experiment with your career and see changes as opportunities for further career advancement.

1. Career and labor market in the 21st century

What is a career? How will careers change in the 21st century? What are the important skills for the 21st century? Labor market and career complexity. What is career development and career planning?

2. Chance, luck and my limits

The impact of chance on career and life itself. Limits and influences affecting career decision-making. What is happiness anyway?

3. Networking, linked in "planned random events"

The linked in social network and how to use it to develop your career (how to create a strong profile and develop a network). Questions that are good to ask people around. How to take advantage of scheduled random events. How to use fairs, conferences and networking. Preparing and practicing Elevatour pitches and questions for casual conversation.

4. Curiosity, questions, tasks

The question as a basic equipment of every job seeker. Assigning a task and preparing a strategy to achieve the task.

5. Me and work I - What I can offer

Mapping the previous experience, skills and interests of the participants. Identification of life themes. The main benefits of the study. Available with personality/career tests. Searching for personal limits, boundaries, shortcomings and fears.

6. Me and Work II – my values ​​and possible paths, a sustainable career

Where to look for inspiration for a possible career. What values ​​are important to me? Vision, values ​​and meaning for my work. What are the parameters of a dream job and why? Finding limits.

7. CV and personal brand and a well-told life story

What can I write in a CV and how to build a personal brand and storytelling. CV for different occasions and customs abroad). Cover letter.
