Students will be able to:
Identify the symmetry elements and operations and to propose and apply the molecular orbital diagrams for polyatomic molecules
Determine the groud state terms of atoms and ions of d-block elements and their energy splitting in ligand field
Assess the acid-base behavior of ions in aqueous solutions and propose the reaction schemes for Lewis acids and bases
Characterize crystalline solids in terms of symmetry, derive the structure prototypes based on closed packing schemes of atoms and ions, and perform simple crystal chemical calculations (theoretical density, charge balances in non-stoichiometric solids)
Solve the problems involving various types of equilibrium constants, potential phase diagrams, standard reduction potentials and Nernst equations.
Apply an extended knowledge of inorganic substances reactivity.

Studenti budou umět:
Identifikovat prvky a operace symetrie a pracovat s diagramy molekulových orbitalů víceatomových molekul
Určit termy základních stavů atomů a iontů přechodných kovů a jejich rozštěpení v ligandovém poli
Odhadovat acidobazické chování iontů ve vodných roztocích a navrhovat reakční schémata Lewisových kyselin a bází.
Charakterizovat krystalické látky z hlediska symetrie, odvodit základní strukturní typy na základě nejtěsnějšího uspořádání a provádět jednoduché krystalochemické výpočty (teoretická hustota, bilance náboje v krystalech s poruchami)
Pracovat s různými typy rovnovážných konstant, potenciálovými diagramy stability, aplikovat standardní redukční potenciály a Nernstovu rovnici.
Upevní si a rozšíří znalosti z oblasti reaktivity anorganických látek.

To obtain a credit the students have to successfully pass two preliminary tests during the semester or a summary test at the end of the semester. The examination covers the summary of the contents of both OACH I and OACH II and it constists of a written and oral part.
