The cours presents inorganic chemistry in context. Předmět prohlubuje znalosti koordinační chemie a systematické anorganické chemie prvků. Náplň se řídí odbornými zájmy doktorandů, kromě učebnic používáme vybrané souhrnné články nebo monografie.

1. Atomic structure. Nucleus, its stability, radioactivity. Electrons.

2. Interaction among atoms. Bonding theories, their possibilities and limits, comparison.

3. Solutins and solubilities. Water solutions, protic solvents.

4. Ionic aprotic solvents, ionic liquids.

5. Meatl-metal bond, clusters. Zintl ions, boranes. d-metal clusters, isolobality principle.

6. Bonding in oxides, properties of oxides, hydration, acidobasicity.

7. Redox behaviour and photochemistry.

8. Reaction mechanisms in inorganic chemistry

9. Lanthanoids.

10. Actinoids.
