Annotation -

The aim of the course is to present to students as realistically as possible the role of the water technologist in the design of water infrastructure (water and wastewater treatment plants). In cooperation with industrial partners, students will work on projects from real practice under the guidance of supervisors from the UCT (consultations once a week) and mentors from the companies (consultations as needed). The output of the projects will be technical and economic studies, which students will present to representatives of the participating companies. The course will include theoretical lectures (in combination with the course Water Technology: Seminar to Project (M217022)) on the following topics: Project management, Presentation of results (oral presentations, technical texts), Different methods of approach to technological calculations, Estimation of project costs.

select, according to available data, correct solution to a given problem,

independently carry out experiments,

evaluate experimental data and deduce correct conclusions.
