The energy recovery of waste is a highly actual topic not only for the Czech energy and heating industry mainly because of the opportunities presented by the current waste act, directives, and regulations from the European Union. The gradual move away from landfilling, increasing recycling rates, and introducing biowaste sorting are just the beginning of many changes to which the existing waste management, heating, and energetics industry must adapt. Students will be introduced to current and new challenges in waste-to-energy, available, and promising technologies for thermal recovery of waste.
Aim of the course -
Last update: Juklíčková Hana Ing. (25.09.2023)

Students will be able to:

1) Justify the increased future interest in waste energy and material recovery technologies.

2) Evaluate the current status and potential of different types of waste utilisation, emphasising waste-to-energy.

3) Evaluate the potential of different technologies for waste-to-energy.

4) Describe in detail the technologies and possibilities of waste incineration plants.
