The course Pharmacology teaches the basics of pharmacodynamics (such as drug interactions with the receptor, the main site of action of drugs at the molecular level), basic pharmacokinetics (e.g., half-life of elimination and its clinical significance). The characteristics of drug groups according to anatomical systems and diseases, including side effects, drug interactions, etc are discussed.
Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of the creation, development and evaluation of new drugs, including basic types of preclinical and clinical studies, including a description of research methods and the development of new drugs
  • Evaluate the general pharmacokinetic data and the concentration of drugs in the blood for therapeutic effect
  • Apply the basic principles of pharmacodynamics
  • Apply the principles of administration and the effect of the drug, which is governed by rational choice of drug, route of administration, safety and efficacy
