The subject of Pharmacology is focused on deepening knowledge of general and special pharmacology. In general pharmacology, the course deals in detail with (1) the mechanism of action of the drug in the body (including the principle of receptor function) and (2) the fate of the drug in the body. In special pharmacology, the subject is devoted to (1) deepening knowledge of basic groups of drugs (eg psychotropic drugs, sedatives, hypnotics), (2) acquaintance with marginal groups of drugs (eg contrast agents and hormonal drugs) and new trends in drugs ( gene and cell therapy).

Předmět Farmakologie je zaměřen na prohloubení vědomostí z obecné a speciální farmakologie. Z obecné farmakologie se předmět podrobně věnuje (1) mechanismu působení léčiva v organismu (vč. principu fungovaní receptorů) a (2) osudem léčiva v organismu. Ze speciální farmakologie se předmět věnuje (1) prohloubení znalostí ze základních skupin léčiv (např. psychofarmaka, sedativa, hypnotika), (2) seznámením se s okrajovým skupinami léčiv (např. kontrastní látky a hormonální léčiva) a novými trendy v oblasti léčiv (genová a buněčné terapie).
