The course is focused on the efficiency and ecological aspects of the production of heat and fuels for transportation by reflecting remarkable progress in the field of sustainable and renewable energy methods and technologies.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

analyze processes during ecological heat and fuel generation

balance and optimize basic technologies for fuel combustion and heat accumulation

design a simple active solar system for hot water and heating application

assess energy potential and utilization of waste by combustion or composting methods

4. Wood and energy crops, biomass origin, potential, forms, energy content, chemical analysis

5. Solid and compressed fuels, pellets production&specifications, direct combustion, boilers

6. Thermochemical transformation, generator gas, pyrolysis oil, synthetic biomethane&biohydrogen

7. Fuel for transportation, vegetable oil to biodiesel, fermentation to bioethanol,
