The subject focuses on improving and expanding language and communication skills in general English, interpretation of texts and listening materials, presentation of students' opinions and their ability to reason. Topics include music, sleep, argument, crime and punishment, advertising, science. The final level of proficiency is B2/B2+ according to CERF (Common European Reference Framework).
Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

  • understand and interpret authentic texts (newspaper articles, extracts from literature) and listening materials
  • make arguments in a discussion using all acquired language skills, explain opinions and attitudes
  • use suitable and precise vocabulary
  • write an essay
  • write a report
