Professional English 1 is the first semester of an intensive course designed to help foreign students reach the B2 level of mastering English, which is an obligatory pre-requisite for further university studies in the Czech Republic.
The goal of this course is for students to augment their overall knowledge of the English language concerning the four language skills involved: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. It should enhance their professional communicative competence in terms of vocabulary, grammar, intelligible pronunciation, listening comprehension, and coherent organization of information at sentence and discourse levels.
