The course involves the fundamental chemical-engineering and technological knowledge of glass preparation, particularly by glass melting. The contemporary approaches to preparation of special glasses by modern non-melting methods are summarized in the introductory lecture. The substantial part of the course focuses on the glass melting process of industrial glasses. The individual courses are chronologically arranged according to the actual development of the glass melting process. Poslední úprava: Kubová Petra (15.01.2018)

Students will be able to: Describe the various partial melting processes on the basis of the results of experiments for the models and practical knowledge and to define the most important process parameters. Suggest a condition for the realization of the melting process based on processes knowledge. Use glass melting process knowledge to solve problems of glass production and preparation of laboratory glass. Prepare the glass of given composition in laboratory conditions.
