Annotation -
The course provides an overview of the main groups of environmental contaminants, their sources, properties, movement in the environment, and their impacts on ecosystems and human health. The lectures also cover an overview of analytical methods used for pollution monitoring, including the use of bioindicators and biomarkers. Additionally, the course focuses on the assessment of environmental risks associated with these substances. Upon completion, students should gain a basic understanding of environmental contamination issues and the possibilities for analyzing significant contaminants in various environmental compartments.

Environmental contaminants and their analysis is a course focused on linking theoretical knowledge about contaminants and their analysis with their practical application in the field of monitoring and assessment of environmental and human health impacts. The course is taught in the form of lectures supplemented by concrete examples from current environmental studies. During the teaching, methods are applied to verify the understanding of the subject matter - quiz tests or group problem solving.

Requirements to the exam -

The examination consists of a written and an oral part.

The written part is compulsory, and the oral part can be taken only after obtaining at least 50 points from the written part. If less than 50 points are obtained, the exam is graded F.

If you fail the oral part, you can repeat only this part.
