In the laboratory, students will learn about the practical application of some spectroscopic techniques (NMR, Raman spectroscopy of solid phase samples including natural material, solid state infrared spectroscopy using reflex techniques and mass spectrometry) for molecular species analysis.

use selected spectroscopic techniques for molecular analysis

to describe and explain the principles of molecular spectroscopy based on quantum mechanics

apply basic principles of group theory in spectroscopy.
