In this experimental course students will prepare a short review on an assigned topic from biotechnology of pharmaceuticals. Students will be acquainted with laboratory and IT equipment related to the assigned topic. Systematic work plan will be prepared and accordingly the experimental work will be performed. During the course students will learn basic methodology of obtaining and processing of experimental data. Students will learn to evaluate data and compare results with published literature.

Students will be able to:

Plan and conduct laboratory experiments in the range of available methodologies intended for an individual topic in collaboration with the supervisor.

Perform basic analysis and evaluation of experimental data

Process experimenal results in the form of short professional communcation, providing precise literature sources.

In this experimental course separate topics will be announced by the pedagogues of the faculty. Students will be acquainted with modern laboratory techniques, namely in the following fields: microbiology, biochemistry, immunochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, cell physiology, bioengineering, biotechnology etc. An integral part of the course is the work with original scientific literature, experiment planning and accomplishment, methods of data processing and presentation of results. Students will process the experiment results, evaluate and compare with data available in published literature. The evaluated results will be presented in a short professional communication.
