The subject concerns active network components, their function in each OSI model layer and their settings. It is focused on usage and implementation of routers and switches in modern computer networks. Identification of basic security risks in computer networks and focuses on prevention of the risks. In addition it concerns settings of Active Directory in environment of MS Windows Server 2008.

Students will be able to:

Differentiate roles and functions of different network devices according to OSI layer model.

Handle basic use of active network components, set static and dynamic routing, configure Access lists and VLANs.

Manage and implement Active Directory in MS Windows Server 2008.
