Annotation -
Subject presents the introduction to plasma physics explaining the interactions of particles with physical fields; presents the general plasma types, methods of generation and possible application especially for interaction with biomaterials and biostructures or for the generation of nanoparticles.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to apply the physical principles to the objects in plasmatic state, explain the physical processes in plasma, and will know selected plasma applications.

Syllabus -

The subject is specifically dedicated to the following topics:

1. Plasma, plasma types, plasma generation.

2. Plasma processes -- particle movement in physical fields.

3. Plasma in Space and on te Earth.

4. Sources of thermal plasma, applications and diagnostics.

5. Sources of non-thermal plasma, applications and diagnostics.

6. Plasma application in microbiology, food industry and medicine.

7. Plasma simulations, numerical methods.

8. Critical analysis and review of a given/selected published paper dealing with the application of plasma.

9. Seminar - presentation of reviews of published papers.

10. Assignment of projects - diagnostic of plasma generated by selected source - independent processing of data by properly selected methods

11. Seminar - presentation of project outputs and their discussion
