The content of this module is focused on the basic principles of corrosion and corrosion protection of technicaly important metallic, polymeric and nonmetalic inorganic materials.
Aim of the course
Last update: Kouřil Milan doc. Ing. Ph.D. (20.01.2015)

Students will be able to:

  • understand principles of corrosion attack on metals, significant forms of corrosion and corrosion protection manners.
  • characterize the degradation process of polymeric materials by action of atmospheric aging, high temperature, biological and chemical environment, and to be well oriented in the field of polymers stabilization.
  • understand the principles and basic mechanisms of corrosion of glass, ceramics and concrete, the manners of increasing chemical resistance of inorganic nonmetallic materials.
