Annotation -
The aim of the seminar is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the elaboration of their bachelor thesis and for presenting their results. During the seminar, students will learn to communicate about work problems and learn how to solve them. In addition, they will be informed about the ways in which results are presented and will regularly report to their colleagues and discuss with them. They will also learn how to use information resources and by analyzing work from previous years will learn how to write a bachelor thesis correctly and how to avoid mistakes.

Syllabus -

1. Assignment of bachelor thesis, role of supervisor, time schedule.

2. Topic of bachelor thesis - presentation of selected work by students.

3. Specification of target and methodology of bachelor thesis, scope of work.

4. Structure of work, characteristics of individual parts of bachelor thesis.

5. Principles of writing scientific text, graphic processing, mathematical expressions, chemical nomenclature, tables and figures.

6. Linguistic and stylistic problems in writing scientific texts.

7. Symbols and abbreviations, foreign language concepts.

8. Working with literature, bibliographic databases, bibliographic citations, citation ethics, plagiarism.

9. Theoretical part of the work, literature search.

10. Experimental part of work, processing and presentation of results.

11. Critical evaluation of achieved results.

12. Summary and conclusion - difference and meaning.

13. Approval and submission of work.

14. Bachelor thesis defense - preparation for defense, course of defense.
