The aim of the subject is to introduce with comprehension apprehension of hazards related to technical and technologic processes. The subject is aimed above all at hazards related to chemical and power plants, especially nuclear power plants, where the question of potential hazards and safety is one of the priorities. Last but not least within the scope of the subject students improve their self and presentation abilities, new trends of the branch are presented.
The subject is designed as 2 hours of lectures and 1 hour of exercises per week. Lectures and discussions with students on the given topic take place during the lectures. As part of some lectures, the understanding of the acquired knowledge is verified using a small mid-term test. In the time allotted for the exercise, students independently study the Aloha program and develop a project, familiarize themselves with the PRIS databases, and prepare for the presentation of credit reports.

The subject emphasizes the various activities of students during the teaching of the subject. Students take part in a discussion on the topic discussed in the lecture, prepare short presentations in groups on assigned topics related to teaching, prepare individual papers, etc. Students' acquired knowledge is checked during the semester in the form of short mid-term tests. The mentioned activities are scored. In addition to the mentioned activities, students can participate in field trips (1 field trip is mandatory) and independently process a project according to the assignment using the Aloha program (freeware). In order to get credit for the subject, you need:
For the complete completion of the subject, credit is required and the complete solution of the above-mentioned project must be submitted. The final grade depends on the sum of points from all activities, with 200 - 229 points = E, 230 - 259 points = D, 260 - 289 points = C, 290 - 319 points = B, 320 or more points = A. Aspects of the use of fast reactors and innovative types of nuclear reactors in the energy industry. 7. Specifics of key components of nuclear power plants. 8. Selected specifics of materials, especially in nuclear energy. 9. Water as a coolant and heat-carrying medium in the energy industry. The influence of the quality of this coolant on the safety and reliability of the power plant. 10. Advanced nuclear systems for energy production (Generation IV reactors) and their safety and reliability. 11. Advanced technologies in energy - hydrogen technologies, CCS, and others. 12. Issues of radioactive waste, radiation protection and assessment of safety and reliability, risks associated with the use of sources of ionizing radiation. 13. Professional excursion 14. Presentation of credit reports of students. Defense of an individual project solved using the Aloha program
