Sewage sludge treatment and management is one of the most important disciplines in waste water treatment technology. In this course the following topics are discussed: Production and characterization of sewage sludge. The features of different options for sludge utilization or disposal are outlined, together with problems connected to the storage and transportation of sludge. There are discussed the treatment and stabilizations methods necessary to meet the technical and legal requirements for the different utilization and disposal options.
Aim of the course -
Last update: Jeníček Pavel prof. Ing. CSc. (07.08.2013)

Students will be able:

to estimate the amount of sludge at various treatment technologies and to evaluate their properties,

to choose an optimal alternative of sludge stabilization and other technological stages of sludge treatment

to assess the possibilities of material and energy reuse of sludge and to assess the mutual impact of sludge and sewage lines.
