Toxicology deals with chemical substances negative influence on living organisms. The aim of the lectures is to give basic information about hazardous chemical materials. The course presents the fate of hazardous chemicals in organisms, the type of their impacts on human being and their detrimental effects on tissues, organs,or biological processes. The relevant legislation is included. The characterization of special inorganic and organic compounds are described in details. The principles of occupational safety in chemical laboratory, first aid and prevention of accidents are covered. The part of ecology explains the hazardous compounds impact on the environment.
