Annotation -
The course introduces students to the basics of mining, transport and storage of crude oil. Basic chemical and fractional composition of crude oil is presented. The main part of the course is devoted to the processing of crude oil, production and properties of motor fuels, heating oils, lubricating oils, asphalt and other refinery products.

Aim of the course -

Students will know:

Basics of crude oil prospecting and exploration.

Basic composition of crude oil and petroleum fractions.

Fundamentals of technological processes that are used in the processing of crude oil and petroleum fractions.

The basic characteristics of different types of motor fuels, fuel oils, lubricating oils, asphalt and other petroleum products.

Pro úspěšné absolvování předmětu je nutno získat alespoň 50 bodů ze 100 možných v písemné části zkoušky. V ústní části zkoušky student případně vysvětlí a doplní odpovědi uvedené v písemné části.
