The course Strategic Planning and Development Policy introduces students to the methodological, institutional and practical (implementation) framework of strategic planning, primarily in the public, but also corporate and non-profit sectors. Students get to know examples of sectoral, government municipal and international policies and strategic documents and its (spatial and master planning, general management, public interest, sustainability etc.) context. Competence for analysis, implementation and interpretation of different types of strategic plans and public policies and design its assignment. Ability to develop a strategic plan or its part. Orientation in in current public policies and general overview of relevant European, international and Czech strategic documents with an impact on sustainable development. Credit will be awarded on the basis of attendance and active participation in seminars and the elaboration and defence of a semester work on an individually assigned topic. The course will end with an oral exam.
