| The course is designed to help international students improve and accommodate their language, communication and sociocultural competencies to meet the requirements of the English study programmes with a primary focus on developing students’ language, communication and academic competence as independent users of CEFR. The well-structured course includes in-class lessons, guided independent learning, regular revisions, assignments and feedback, a progress check and an exam. The programme consists of 900 lessons of general language training and 100 lessons of specific language training. Specific training focuses on technological studies, humanities, medical studies, or economic studies. Extra offer of 168 specific lessons is provided for highly motivated students interested in economic studies at School of Business, UCT Prague. Medical oriented study consists of 900 lessons of general language training and 300 specific lessons. If the course starts in November, it comprises 700 hours of general language instruction and 100 hours of specialised language instruction. After the successful completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate with the course description and final assessment. |

| A successful graduate should be able to communicate in English as an independent user, use the acquired knowledge and skills in everyday situations as well as in academic environment, comprehend complex texts and ideas. In addition, the course brings international experience, broadens horizons and networks, and opens new perspectives related to both academia and the global workplace. | |
